Hyper Cyber

2020

Solo exhibition, Þula, Hjartatorgið, 101 Reykjavík, Iceland

Hyper Cyber is a study of digital aesthetics in everyday life where various symbols with reference to digital imagery are dissected and displayed in a familiar but abstract way.

In modern life, various types of screens are a big part of every person's day. We work on the computer during the day, look at the phone in our free time and watch TV in the evening. Monitors and their interfaces have become a bigger part of our lives than we actually realize.

In Hyper Cyber digital objects are simplified by taking out the digital aspect and the only thing left is familiar imagery and descriptive screens with no functionality.

The exhibition was funded by The Icelandic Art Fund.
